Alaska Magazine hired Jeff to photograph this editorial assignment on the "Gates of the Arctic National Park." The outdoor editor from Alaska Magazine, Jeff, and two others began this 5 day assignment at the headwaters of the South Fork of the Koyukuk river in the Brooks Range. After 2 days of backpacking a small plane dropped off a raft and more provisions and the group floated the rest of the river in the raft
