Red Paw Dog Food hired Jeff to make studio images of Iditarod champion Lance Mackey as well as individual studio portraits of many of his best dogs at his home/kennel outside Fairbanks, Alaska.  The shoot included two dog-wranglers to help control the energetic dogs and one photo assistant.  Makeup was added to Lance’s face and beard to replicate the exhaustion and dirt associated with being on the trail for two weeks. To cut costs, the art director stayed at their offices on the East Coast and Jeff’s assistant sent images as they were shot to get approval and direction.
