It’s Saturday in Nome. The last couple days has been spent mostly editing the 10,000 plus photos taken during the race, getting them captioned and sorted for the www.iditarodphotos.com website as well as putting together my annual slide show that will be shown at the Iditarod volunteer potluck dinner next week in Anchorage. It’s been a brain-drain keeping all these ducks in a row. I’ve been out on the trail several times by snowmachine as well as car to get photos of teams coming in. It’s been quite windy here so good for some shots, but awfully cold otherwise. See those photos at www.iditarod.com/photo
Tomorrow is the musher awards banquet then I hope to be on a plane back to Anchorage just afterward. Today before the Russian musher came in I wandered down Front Street here near the finish line and did some “artsy” shots. Something fun for me. Attached are a few of those— my tribute to Nome’s colorful past and present.
