I think Turnagain Arm, just south of Anchorage proper, is one of the most target-rich environments for photographers. It’s all there… water, mountains, wildlife, flowers and more. Turnagain Arm was named by William Bligh (as in Captain Bligh) when he served as Captain Cook’s sailing master looking for the Northwest Passage and had to “turn around again”. Here’s an image I made a week or so ago along Turnagain Arm. Canon 5D Mark III 24-105mm F4 @ 28mm F/22 for 75 seconds.
