Today was the Ceremonial Start of the 2015 Iditarod. Mushers new and old gathered downtown on 4th Avenue to start The Last Great Race in front of thousands of elated fans. They braved wind and rain on an unseasonably warm March day. With the temperature hanging around the high 30’s, the snow that was brought onto the streets due to a lack of it, made for slush filled excitement.
From here, the mushers travel north to Fairbanks for the official start on Monday the 9th. When first musher crosses the starting line the adventure begins as they traverse through the Alaskan Bush and pus onwards
