Welcome to Huslia. Huslia is a small village located on the banks of the Koyokuk river, which is a tributary of the Yukon River. This is the home town of the late, great dog musher George Attla. Huslia has a historical significance to the world of mushing and the Iditarod race that has made this new checkpoint one worthy of consideration for future Iditarods. With all of this history, the villagers have welcomed the mushers with open arms and a lot of hot food! Here are a few pictures from this mornings mercury breaking temperatures.
