We left Huslia this morning around 11am and just landed in Kaltag for a quick stop before we head to Unalakleet this evening. Aaron Burmister was the first one into Unalakleet to claim the Wells Fargo Gold Coast Award. This is given to the first musher to reach Norton Sound and it is $3,500 in Gold Nuggets. Between our final destination of Unalakleet for the night, we made a stop in Koyukuk for a few hours to catch mushers making a stop and some making their way past the checkpoint. After we left Koyukuk we flew over the checkpoint of Nulato to get some aerials of mushers making their way down the Yukon River to reach, Kaltag and eventual Unalakleet. Here are a few photos from this morning in Huslia and this afternoon in Koyukuk.
