This year during the ceremonial start of the Iditarod it seemed to me it was the “year of high-fives”. Every year as the mushers run down the streets and bike trails of Anchorage, thousands of people cheer the mushers. It’s really a heart-warming sight to see. For some reason, I thought this year had an extra-ordinary amount of people giving mushers, handlers and Iditariders a high-five. I loved it. I shot a LOT of high-fives this year and this is my favorite of it. It shows Ed Stiestra of Michigan and his Iditarider giving double fives to the crowd. I love the kid on the right in the orange and grey jacket who has someone holding is arm so he can lean out further. Iditarod is about the people and dogs, what a great event!!
