I wanted to make the image just a bit different than a normal sunset photo. Though it may not be easy to tell, I shot this at a very long exposure so that the water would look more silky and smooth rather than have a hard-edge to it. I’m sad that I did not crop in that entire small rock on the left side in the middle. It REALLY bothers me that I did not. It was one of those things I just was not patient enough to see. Sad.
Shot on a Canon 5D Mark III with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens at 200mm f 7.1 for 60 seconds ISO 100 with a 10-stop Singh-Ray neutral density filter. On the second image, I shot without the long exposure and ND filter.
On this second image, I shot without the long exposure and ND filter, BUT I framed it better I think by keeping that small rock in the frame. Same set up but shot at 1/60th second ISO 200.
