What brought you to live in Alaska:
I came up here to Alaska in 1986, and I came up here to find me a husband. I heard there was lots of men and lots of money. The odds were good but the goods were odd, and I married a gold miner, and now I’m a gold digger.
How has Alaska captured your heart?
Alaska has captured my heart because it’s the people. They’re so genuine. Everybody goes out of their way to lend a helping hand, and it’s the spirit of the north, and everybody is family here. I just- I can’t think of a better place to live. It’s God’s country, and we’re all family here. And I love living in Alaska. It’s my home.
Describe just one of your favorite “Best Days” or “Most memorable experiences” in Alaska.
My most memorable experience was gold mining with my husband up the creek in Atlin, British Columbia. We didn’t find much gold, but I tell you what, we sure had a great time, and it’s not about the gold at all. It’s about being with the one you love, and we sure had a great time together.
What in Life do you know for sure?
What I know for sure in life is it’s, it’s not about us at all. It’s all about the Lord. And it’s about being a blessing, and making people’s day, and to go be love.
