What first brought you to Alaska:
I had no say I was two years old when we crossed the border from Canada into Alaska.
How has Alaska captured your heart?
Alaska captured my heart because probably growing up in Moose Pass in a little town and high school and Seward and voting out of Seward my whole life, that’s probably those things wrapped together made me… I’ll never leave. I go on trips, but I’ll never move anywhere else.
Describe just one of your favorite “Best Days” or “Most memorable experiences” in Alaska.
My most memorable experience probably is after the earthquake, the big earthquake, is the road was finally opened up from moose pass into Seward and we took the high school bus into Seward for high school. And as we drove into town, um, I could see these two locomotives had been washed a hundred yards from the ocean all the way up against the cliff, and one of them was upside down. And at that time I knew they didn’t float. That was impressive.
What in Life do you know for sure?
Watching your children become successful.
