What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:

THAT’S AN EASY ONE. IT’S MY BROTHER. MY BROTHER’S MARK GREEN AND HE WAS AN IDITAROD VOLUNTEER FOR 7 YEARS. AND WHEN I RETIRED FROM TEACHING — I HAD DONE THREE SUMMERS IN ALASKA WITH HIM COMING UP TO BUILD. AND HE SAID, “NOW IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO DO THE IDITAROD.” SO I SAID, “OKAY!” BECAUSE I ALWAYS FOLLOWED HIM WHEREVER HE WENT. SO THAT’S WHAT REALLY BROUGHT ME HERE.

Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:

WELL, I’VE HAD A LOT IN THE PAST COUPLE DAYS. IT’S AMAZING HOW ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE TOUCHED MY BROTHER’S LIFE OR THEY’VE TOUCHED HIS HAVE COME INTO MY WORLD IN THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS. AND IT’S JUST BEEN AWESOME.

What do you know for sure?:

I KNOW THAT I LOVE MY FAMILY AND MY FAMILY LOVES ME.
