What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:
I GOT INVOLVED WITH THE IDITAROD IN 2017. I’VE BEEN A FAN OF THE RACE EVER SINCE I WAS A KID GROWING UP IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA AND THE FIRST YEAR I WAS ABLE TO WORK ON THE TRAIL AND ALSO HELP WITH THE STRAW, YOU KNOW, A LOAD-OUT PERSON.
What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?
YEAH, I’M HERE TODAY BECAUSE, FIRST OF ALL, I’VE GOT THE DAY OFF AND I LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP THIS RACE OUT. AND TODAY WE’RE WORKING WITH THE STRAW.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:
ONE OF MY MOST MEMORABLE IDITAROD EXPERIENCES WAS WORKING UP AT THE CHECKPOINT IN KALTAG. I GOT TO SPEND FIVE DAYS UP THERE WORKING ON THE TRAIL AND ALSO AS A COMMUNICATIONS GUY. AND I JUST GOT TO KNOW THE LOCAL PEOPLE AND I GOT TO KNOW THE KIDS A LOT. THEY ALL HELPED US OUT RIDING THEIR SNOW-GOES AND IT WAS A LOT OF FUN.
What do you know for sure?:
WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE IN LIFE IS THAT EVERY DAY IS PRECIOUS AND YOU JUST TO HAVE TO LIVE IT TO ITS FULLEST BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MANY DAYS WE’VE GOT LEFT. AND I JUST TO ENJOY BEING AROUND PEOPLE AND HELPING PEOPLE OUT.
