What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:
So, I got involved WITH the, Iditarod in about 2014. my wife decided that she wanted to participate, so she got us involved with the start line and doing some musher involvement AND IDITARIDERS and things like that. I had so much fun that I started volunteering for a comMs and I’ve been doing comms since 2014 and I’ve been doing that every year since.
What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:
I’M HERE TODAY BECAUSE I JUST REALLY HAVE A GOOD TIME COMING OUT HERE AND DOING THIS. TODAY WE’RE LOADING STRAW AND GETTING IT READY TO GO OUT ON THE TRAIL FOR THE MUSHERS. IT’S JUST A LOT OF CAMARADERIE AND JOKING AND GOOD FUN. AND SO IT’S A GOOD CHANCE TO MEET PEOPLE.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:
So, my first year out on the trail I was posted in ElIM out on the Norton sound and the weather was terrible. It was just terrible. So I got stuck IN UNALAKLEET for three days before I was finally able to make it out to ELIM. And it was just so much fun seeing the first of the racers come in and meeting the locals. And of course, it’s a local hub And so there’s a lot of very, very interesting people that are IN ELIM.
What do you know for sure?:
What I know for sure in life is that I don’t know anything for certain, but I just try to get as much out of it as I can cause I really enjoy hanging out with people that are also having a good time.
