What brought you to live in Alaska:
I first came to Alaska because I had a teaching contract to teach out in King Cove Alaska.
How has Alaska captured your heart?
Alaska has captured my heart because it’s one of the truly last places where you can find wilderness, and when I say wilderness, you can be in a place where there is not another person for three, 400 miles, and that’s very attractive to me.
Describe just one of your favorite “Best Days” or “Most memorable experiences” in Alaska.
My most memorable experience was just recently I made two goals for myself this year, and one was to film a bear fight that lasted over 30 seconds, which I have not attained so far. But I also wanted to see Velcro cubs. Velcro cubs are cubs that are spring cubs that will ride around on their mother’s back for protection, and I spent 25 years trying to get photos of that, and this year I was lucky and actually saw a mom with three Velcro cubs. That was probably my most memorable experience of recent times.
What in Life do you know for sure?
What I know for sure in life is if you’re not comfortable with yourself and if you’re not at peace with yourself, you’re never going to be at peace anywhere.
